Aruba is located in the Dutch West Indies along with its sister islands Bonaire and Curacao (hence, the ABC Islands). It is a two-and-a-half-hour flight from Miami, and just 15 miles off the South American coast. Non-stop air service is also available from many East Coast and Midwest U.S. cities, as well as London, Manchester, Amsterdam, Caracas, Maracaibo, Bogotá and Panama. Because of its location in the southern Caribbean, Aruba falls below the traditional hurricane belt, and seldom is threatened by such storms.
